CIL Caravan Safety Tip - Caravan Sway

Caravan sway is one of the most common causes of caravan accidents on the road and can be caused by poor weight distribution, uneven tyre pressure, poor suspension, side winds and entering slipstreams of heavy vehicles such as semi-trailers. Caravan sway can be prevented by packing your weight away from the axle, ensuring your tow ball weight is not too light, applying the appropriate air pressure to your tyres and reducing your speed in treacherous conditions.
